Bhutan Coronation Marathon

The Bhutan Coronation Marathon is an annual event celebrating sports, culture, and community in Bhutan. First held in 2008 to mark the coronation of King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, it promotes fitness, tourism, and Bhutan’s unique traditions. Set in the breathtaking Paro Valley, the race offers stunning views of the Himalayas, ancient monasteries, and iconic landmarks like the Paro Dzong and Tiger’s Nest Monastery.

This year, the marathon introduces exciting new categories under the theme “Be a Change Agent.” Alongside its signature full and half marathons, participants can now join the Team Marathon – Run for a Cause (21 km), Family Fun Run (10 km), and Tenderfoot 5K for young athletes. These additions emphasize inclusivity, social impact, and fostering future talent, making the event more than just a race—it’s a celebration of Bhutanese values and an invitation for all to experience its beauty and culture.
